Whether Practical Magic 2<\/em> was genuinely conjured into existence by fan demand \u2013 as its PR campaign claims \u2013 or is simply the result of Hollywood scraping the intellectual-property barrel and mining anything with a vague following, this long-delayed sequel to 1998\u2019s Practical Magic<\/em> is a disappointment.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, this reunion with the magically inclined Owens family from Massachusetts is anything but spellbinding.<\/p>\n

Once again, we meet the central coven of witches: Sally (Sandra Bullock), her younger sister Gillian (Nicole Kidman) and their eccentric aunts, Frances (Stockard Channing) and Bridget (Dianne Wiest).<\/p>\n

As we are told early on, \u201cAny man who loved an Owens woman was marked with tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
