Floriography promises to do just that.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">For the past eight years, Jo Shaw, the 35-year-old founder of the Hong Kong-based artisan perfume house, has been creating niche fragrances that emulate concepts such as old bookstores, the earthy scent after rain and a chaotic urban jungle smelling like metal, temple smoke and steamed rice.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cWhen I started, there weren\u2019t any brands \u2013 at least in Hong Kong \u2013 selling fragrances that reminded you of an environment or an experience,\u201d Shaw says. \u201cThe perfumes available were very literal and not very imaginative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Her scent awakening came in 2013 when she studied abroad for a year in Milan during her finance degree.
