Battlefield 6<\/strong><\/em> has just announced a game mode called Casual Breakthrough, and it\u2019s accessible from the main menu right now. For players seeking to level up their Battlefield 6<\/em> battle pass, weapons, and profiles, this mode could be a good alternative to normal matches.<\/p>\n

One of the many Battlefield 6<\/em> controversies as of late has been a major nerf to Portal XP after Battlefield Studios had promised that player-created experiences would provide full experience points. This was walked back as a result of numerous XP farm lobbies where players battled bots for full XP, and it has been a consistent talking point among fans ever since. For some players, Battlefield 6<\/em> multiplayer matches can get too intense and stressful due to the game\u2019s many close-quarters maps, and bot lobbies have been a way to have a more casual form of play while still making progress.<\/p>\n
While there have been workarounds to this, like players turning off crossplay to regularly get themselves into bot matches where they can still progress, Battlefield Studios has clearly recognized the desire for less intense gameplay. The new Casual Breakthrough game mode was detailed on X, being described as \u201ca more relaxing way to play while still earning progression and completing challenges.\u201d It offers the following features:<\/p>\n

\n Smaller player teams of 8 real players on each side.\n <\/li>\n
\n Teams filled primarily with bots, with 16 bots on each side.\n <\/li>\n
\n Full progression, with players able to grind out difficult Battlefield 6<\/em> class challenges while also earning weapon, profile, and battle pass XP.\n <\/li>\n
\n \u201cBalanced XP,\u201d which provides full XP for killing one of the 8 real players and reduced XP for killing one of the 16 bots.\n <\/li>\n
\n Two maps, those being Siege of Cairo and Empire State.\n <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\n Will Battlefield 6\u2019s Casual Breakthrough Mode Be Enough? \n <\/h2>\n

While the mode is undoubtedly a good addition that could serve as a solid alternative for fans seeking a more relaxing shooter, it\u2019s unlikely that it will be enough to satisfy any players outraged by the Portal changes. For starters, the mode being limited to just two of the game\u2019s 10 maps could see it growing stale sooner rather than later, though BF Studios has seemingly teased additional maps for Casual Breakthrough by describing Siege of Cairo and Empire State as the \u201cinitial\u201d maps. Additionally, fans of other game modes like Escalation and Conquest are still in need of a playlist like this one. Players have pointed to Battlefield 2042<\/em>‘s option to play co-op with friends against a team full of bots as something that would be ideal.<\/p>\n

A key factor that will determine the mode\u2019s success will be how heavily the XP is decreased for eliminating the bots. There has also been some pushback from players who don\u2019t want to see bots in Battlefield 6<\/em> at all, while the cries for more Closed Weapon playlists continue. Regardless, those seeking a Titanfall<\/em>-like Battlefield<\/em> match will want to give Casual Breakthrough a try.<\/p>\n
