A casual livestream escalated into a heated argument after content creators Wendy Cheng and Jaylene Hong clashed over Hong\u2019s alleged comments about Cheng during her spat with Simonboy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

42-year-old influencer Wendy Cheng, also known as Xiaxue, said in an Instagram post on Sept 4<\/a> that she had the \u201cmost infuriating and excruciating conversation with a victim of short-term memory loss\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the post, she explained that she had joined a livestream hosted by Simbian Chua, owner of Century Bakkwa, on Sept 3. The business went viral<\/a> after its outlet at Little India caught fire at the height of Chinese New Year preparations.<\/p>\n

Cheng said she had left comments asking Chua about a dispute between two undisclosed live streamers. A short while later, she was invited to Chua\u2019s live stream, which she agreed to.<\/p>\n

Hong joins livestream<\/h2>\n

While Cheng was chatting with Chua on the livestream, a commenter apparently mentioned Hong, who goes by @jaylenebaobao on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Cheng recalled that others had sent her Hong\u2019s Instagram Story posts which commented on her during her dispute with influencer Khung Wei Nan, or Simonboy, on social media.<\/p>\n

At the time, Cheng had called Khung out<\/a> after he set up the Forever Megan charity<\/a> in remembrance of his four-year-old daughter, Megan Khung<\/a>, who died in February 2020 after suffering over a year of horrific abuse by her mother and her mother\u2019s boyfriend.<\/p>\n

In one of Cheng\u2019s Instagram Story posts on Nov 12, 2025, she said he had \u201cenough kids on (his) hands\u201d<\/a>. She was later sent a cease-and-desist letter<\/a> over her remarks.<\/p>\n

During the dispute, Hong had apparently commented on the incident on her Instagram Story. One screenshot read: \u201cI have this theory. If you already had multiple plastic surgeries, heavy makeup, hair done, and yet you still need to put on severely strong beauty filters, it is because \u4f60\u7684\u5fc3\u592a\u4e11\u4e86 (your heart is too ugly).\u201d<\/p>\n

Hong, who is signed to Peace Street Productions,<\/a> a media production and creator agency founded by Khung, subsequently joined the livestream with Cheng and Chua.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was awkward to say the least but at this point if I leave it would be like I dare to say people then she come I flee,\u201d Cheng explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018You cannot be hypocritical\u2019: Cheng accuses Hong of commenting on her<\/h2>\n

In a screen recording of the livestream, which was sent to her by a follower, Hong denies \u201csay(ing) sh*t about Xiaxue\u201d, explaining that she doesn\u2019t \u201cagree with the way she does things\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hong adds that she felt Xiaxue did not need to comment on others, to which Xiaxue replied in Mandarin: \u201cYou can talk badly about others, but others can\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI never belittle anyone,\u201d Hong repeats twice.<\/p>\n

However, Cheng insisted that she felt belittled, asking if her opinion didn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo why can\u2019t people comment that he is also responsible and that he shouldn\u2019t be using her death to milk his own reputation?\u201d Cheng presses.<\/p>\n

Hong, however, maintains that she felt there was no need for others to comment on the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen why did you comment on me? It\u2019s also unnecessary,\u201d Cheng claps back in Mandarin.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cannot be hypocritical. If you can do it, why can\u2019t somebody else do it?\u201d Cheng asks.<\/p>\n

Hong denies mocking Cheng<\/h2>\n

Later, Hong insists that she did not mock Cheng, claiming that she did not remember posting about her.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re asking me to tell everybody something that I don\u2019t f*cking remember, that\u2019s damn funny,\u201d Hong says.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t remember what you posted, how do you know you did not belittle me?\u201d Cheng responds.<\/p>\n

Hong then denies saying that she did not belittle Cheng, adamant that she knew better than to make rash remarks about others.<\/p>\n

In the comments section, Cheng said it was \u201cjust painful talking to her\u201d, describing Hong as \u201ccompletely illogical\u201d and with \u201cabsolutely no shame\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u2018Super rage-inducing to listen to\u2019: Netizens<\/h2>\n

Netizens applauded Cheng for \u201cstanding (her) ground\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love how you never ever back down from a fight,\u201d one netizen said, while another said it was \u201csuper rage-inducing to listen to\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, another pointed out that Hong had not mentioned Cheng in screenshots of Instagram Story posts provided by the latter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhereas yours is blatantly naming and shaming Simonboy. How can it possibly be the same?\u201d the netizen raised.<\/p>\n
