Just weeks after Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8, and less than a week before Apple is expected to reveal its first foldable iPhone, Xiaomi has showcased its own take on the increasingly popular wide-screen foldable at IFA 2026.<\/p>\n
The Xiaomi 18 Fold<\/b> was shown off at the company\u2019s IFA booth in Berlin, but Xiaomi has not yet revealed its complete specifications. It has confirmed a few of the phone\u2019s headline features ahead of its full launch in China on 7 September.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the 18 Fold is Xiaomi\u2019s new XRing O3<\/b> chipset. The company says the foldable will be its first flagship smartphone powered by the latest in-house silicon. The phone will also be one of the first smartphones to use ChangXin Memory Technologies\u2019 next-generation LPDDR6 RAM<\/b>, with memory speeds of up to 12.8Gbps.<\/b><\/p>\n
Based on the product image published on its Facebook page, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features a triple-camera system co-developed with Leica<\/b> on the rear.<\/p>\n
The timing of Xiaomi\u2019s announcement is hard to ignore. Samsung has only recently entered the wide foldable race with the Galaxy Z Fold8, while Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone on 9 September. Xiaomi will therefore have its 18 Fold on stage before Apple\u2019s debut, putting its wider design directly in the spotlight just days before Cupertino gets its turn.<\/p>\n
For now, Xiaomi has confirmed only that the 18 Fold will launch in mainland China on 7 September<\/b>. There is no official word yet on global availability, pricing or whether the device will eventually make its way to markets such as Singapore.<\/p>\n
