The wasteland is about to get a little more playable. Stern Pinball has begun teasing what appears to be its next major pinball machine, and the company isn’t making fans wait long to find out what it’s working on.<\/p>\n

Stern released two brief teaser trailers on Tuesday, both pointing toward Fallout<\/em>, specifically an adaptation of Prime Video’s TV series based on the Bethesda Softworks sci-fi franchise. One teaser features a Pip-Boy, while another shows a massive Vault door opening. Both teasers point to Sept. 3, when Stern says it will reveal more about its latest machine.<\/p>\n

The teasers don’t reveal much else, so there are still plenty of questions about what Stern has planned. It’s also worth noting that recent leaks and speculation had already pointed toward Fallout<\/em> being Stern’s next major release, making today’s teasers something of a confirmation of what fans had been anticipating.<\/p>\n

For now, Stern hasn’t revealed pricing, editions, gameplay features, or exactly which version of the Fallout<\/em> universe the pinball machine will draw from. Whatever it’s got planned will be revealed just before PAX West.<\/p>\n

The Fallout<\/em> franchise has never been bigger, thanks in large part to Amazon’s hit television adaptation. The show’s second season took Lucy MacLean and the Ghoul into the Mojave Wasteland and New Vegas, expanding the live-action version of the franchise while bringing in even more familiar elements from the games.<\/p>\n

Season 3 is already in production, with Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins returning, alongside new additions including Aaron Paul, Emily Mortimer, Manny Jacinto, and Thomasin McKenzie. Amazon has yet to announce a premiere date. The new season is expected to expand the Fallout<\/em> universe even further, with Lucy and the Ghoul continuing their journey while the story moves beyond New Vegas and into new territory, including Colorado.<\/p>\n

There is plenty happening on the game side, too. Bethesda recently confirmed that Fallout 5<\/em> is in preproduction, although it remains a long-term project expected to follow The Elder Scrolls 6<\/em>. Bethesda also revealed that remasters of Fallout 3<\/em> and Fallout: New Vegas<\/em> are in development, while the studio is working with Obsidian on another new Fallout<\/em> project.<\/p>\n

In other words, Stern’s timing couldn’t be much better. Fallout<\/em> is currently sitting at the intersection of games, television and an increasingly large fanbase \u2014 and a pinball machine gives Stern plenty of iconic imagery, characters and Wasteland chaos to work with.<\/p>\n

We’ll find out exactly what Stern has been building on Sept. 3.<\/p>\n
