The optimisation is done via a mix of packet loss prevention (where data goes “missing” at times), intelligent routing to reduce hops to global game servers, and receive faster server responses for smoother matches.

Supported game titles include many popular online-first multiplayer games, such as:

World of Warcraft (and WoW Classic, global servers)

Final Fantasy XIV (global servers)

MapleStory (global, US servers)

Marvel Rivals (Asia / Oceania servers)

Wuthering Waves (SEA / Asia servers)

Honkai Star Rail (Asia servers)

Guild Wars 2 (US / Europe servers)

Apex Legends (SG, HK, JP servers)

Hardcore gamers know these supported titles and their chosen servers are carefully picked, as they are ping-sensitive games.

Additionally, subscribers of Hyperpeer can write in to request for an unlisted game title to get Hyperpeer routing. For example, we don’t see wuxia MMORPG Where Winds Meet or upcoming titles like Guild Wars 3 and GTA 6 listed there, which makes the service ripe for further route optimisation for popular titles.

What’s the catch?

Not exactly a catch, but all these perks don’t come for free. Hyperpeer is priced at S$9.90/month (~MYR 31.44). There are two billing methods: monthly and a S$79.90/yearly alternative, which works out to ~S$6.66/month.

Both come with a 7-day trial with a 30-day money-back guarantee for users who don’t feel that the service is up to par (unlikely, given our experience with MyRepublic services).

MyRepublic is running a promotion to launch standalone Hyperpeer at S$6.90/month for the first 100 customers.

For the time being, Hyperpeer is only available on systems running Windows, with support for mobile platforms coming soon.

Are MyRepublic users left out? What’s the benefit of signing on as a non-MyRepublic user?

For new users of MyRepublic’s rebranded Gamer+ Broadband plans, Hyperpeer is already included free of charge in their subscription, valued at S$9.90/month and valid for the fibre broadband’s standard 24-month contract. It applies to their Internet subscription, which means all Internet traffic receives the optimisation.

Users on existing Gamer Broadband plans also already have Hyperpeer built in, which offers these perks on top of their 10Gbps fibre Internet and any other bundled add-ons they already pay for (like Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers or the new Dreamcore gaming PC collaboration). Past users would know that this service previously had no fancy name.

The biggest change is that you no longer need to be a Myrepublic Gamer Broadband subscriber to enjoy Hyperpeer. It is now available as a standalone subscription that can be tagged onto any Internet service provider in Singapore and Malaysia.

This means you can still get ping reduction and routing optimisation like a MyRepublic Gamer Broadband user, which is especially helpful for users who don’t get a say in their ISP choice at their current residence (for example, some renters, or gamers trapped in a non-gaming, multi-person household).

Also, it works for Malaysian Internet Service Providers (ISPs), even if MyRepublic is not operating as an ISP across the Causeway. One advantage of MyRepublic is that it is not subject to stringent ICT and communications regulatory requirements, yet it serves a market it previously couldn’t access.

In fact, MyRepublic has openly indicated that it will add more supported countries in 2027. In its FAQ, Hyperpeer is stated to work in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, with a view to expand it to the US, EU, Japan, and Korea.

Source: MyRepublic (Hyperpeer official page)

MyRepublic is striving hard to be a gamer’s top pick in ranked matches.
