It\u2019s a big support to the country fighting this catastrophic tragedy of flash flood.\u201d<\/p>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">The plea comes as harrowing images of destroyed villages, roads and bridges \u2013 and reports of deaths following last week\u2019s <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">floods<\/span> \u2013 threaten to deter tourists even from parts of Nepal largely untouched by the disaster.<\/div>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">One of Asia\u2019s poorest economies, Nepal faces a daunting reconstruction effort as higher fuel costs from the <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">Iran war<\/span>, weaker tourism and slowing growth weigh on the economy.<\/div>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">The disaster has compounded the challenges facing the nation\u2019s 36-year-old Prime Minister Balendra Shah, who <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">rose to power<\/span> this year on a wave of Gen Z disaffection.<\/div>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The disaster was triggered last week by a glacial collapse that sent ice, mud, rocks and water surging through a valley in Nepal, wiping out entire settlements in its path.
