But despite Eternal&#8217;s end credits promising that its superhero team would return, no mention has been made of the characters since, following the film&#8217;s poor critical and commercial performance.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Marvel boss Kevin Feige admitted back in 2022 that there are no plans for an Eternals 2 at the current time, and there&#8217;s been zero word to suggest this has changed in the meantime. But perhaps more than any other character in the Eternals, fans have long held onto hope that Harington could still reprise his role someday \u2014 if not in a full sequel then perhaps in another project.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\" data-cy=\"article-slideshow\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-2228525885\"\/><span data-cy=\"slideshow-view-trigger\"><\/p>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-preview\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 slideshow-preview\">\n<h3 class=\"title5 jsx-62124236 jsx-1085005187\" data-cy=\"slideshow-preview-title\">Every Loose End in the Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/h3>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-images-container\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" data-cy=\"hero-image\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 hero-image\"><img alt=\"Keeping on top of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn't too complicated back in the day. There was a little bit of Iron Man in Hulk, a little bit of Thor in Iron Man, and so on. Each teaser arrived one at a time, but now, deep into The Multiverse Saga, the MCU has expanded so much that there are tons of unresolved plot threads that might be resolved in upcoming films and TV shows... or might not.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&#10;&#10;A lot's happed in the MCU in the last three years since this article was originally posted. Even with Marvel Studios reining in its content and putting everything behind the moneymakers for the time being (see: the next three movies being Spider-Man, Avengers, Avengers), we still got closure, or follow-ups at least, to some of the MCU loose ends that were dangling back in 2022. And if they haven't been addressed yet, they might be in the next couple of films. Not only could Harington return without the rest of the Eternals, it would also be a neat place to feature Ryan Gosling&#8217;s Ghost Rider following his introduction. And hey, Mahershala Ali&#8217;s Blade could appear there too! <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">But, for now at least, Harrington has suggested this is not on the cards. Talking to Movie Web, the actor said he wasn&#8217;t aware of any invitation to rejoin the Marvel universe.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">&#8220;I&#8217;d love to [return],&#8221; Harington began. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s any plan to. I hate to break it to you. <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">&#8220;I think he&#8217;s a wicked character,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;There&#8217;s a part of him, that whole Ebony Blade stuff, where the more he kills the worse he gets, the more addicted. I think he&#8217;s such a great parable of addiction. I think he&#8217;s someone who starts good and goes bad. But we&#8217;ll see, I don&#8217;t know if there&#8217;s any plan.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Marvel has its next few years fully mapped out, with Avengers: Doomsday this December, and Avengers: Secret Wars due in December 2027. The following year sees Marvel&#8217;s next phase kick off in style, with X-Men, Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3. As for Harington himself, the actor previously passed on the chance to return as Jon Snow in a rather depressing-sounding Game of Thrones sequel series.
