Star Trek celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, and there have been plenty of celebrations. There’s also been plenty of discussion about which Star Trek series is the best in the franchise. Some would argue for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds<\/em>, while others still stick with Star Trek: The Original Series<\/em>. However, the best Star Trek series remains Star Trek: The Next Generation,<\/em> thanks to its star-studded cast that includes Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, and the ways it pushed the franchise forward. Now, Star Trek fans can enjoy The Next Generation <\/em>in a whole new way.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Beginning October 20, the Fluxx<\/em> card game will release decks themed to different Star Trek <\/em>seasons, including Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>. It’s a celebration in more ways than one. While the release is obviously timed to Star Trek’s 60th anniversary, it also marks the re-release of the Next Generation <\/em>deck, which has been out of print for years. Whether Star Trek fans have played Fluxx <\/em>before or this is their first introduction to the series, it’s the perfect way to celebrate Trek.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Next Generation <\/em>won’t be the only season spotlighted in Fluxx<\/em>‘s new release. Other Star Trek decks are being reprinted, including Star Trek: <\/em>Deep Space Nine<\/em>, Star Trek: Voyager, <\/em>and Star Trek: The Original Series<\/em>. Fluxx <\/em>is even putting out a deck centered on Star Trek: Lower Decks<\/strong><\/em>. This is a big deal for two reasons: while the other decks are reprints, the Lower Decks<\/em> <\/em><\/span>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bset is Fluxx’s <\/em>first new Star Trek deck in years. Lower Decks <\/em>is arguably one of the best shows to come out in the modern era of Star Trek<\/em>, so it’s no surprise that it’s getting a spotlight with Fluxx<\/em>. This variety also gives fans a chance to play with cards featuring their different characters, especially if they’re The Next Generation<\/em> <\/em><\/span>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bfans.<\/p>\n 2026 seems to be the year of Star Trek and card games, since Star Trek is the latest franchise to join Magic: The Gathering<\/em>‘s Universes Beyond banner. The collaboration was announced this July, with a preview taking place at San Diego Comic-Con; the full set will be released on November 13. Much like Fluxx<\/em>, Magic<\/em>‘s take on Star Trek will span different series and feature certain characters in the Commander format \u2014 particularly the series’ iconic captains.
