Feast your eyes on more than 7,000 lilies at Gardens by the Bay\u2019s (GBTB) latest seasonal floral display, Lilytopia.<\/p>\n
Situated in the GBTB Flower Dome, it draws inspiration from the nature and mythology of Ancient Egypt and is presented in collaboration with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Singapore.<\/p>\n
Highlights include the Victoria amazonica<\/i> and Victoria cruziana<\/i>, which are giant water lilies. These were grown from seeds by the GBTB team over the last 1\u00bd years.<\/p>\n
Visitors will also find other plants closely associated with daily life in Egypt, such as the papyrus, which is thought to have been used to manufacture paper in Ancient Egypt as far back as 3,000BC.<\/p>\n
Anchoring the floral display are sculptures and architectural facades \u2013 look out for statues of Egyptian deities, including Ra and Thoth.<\/p>\n
Where: <\/b>Gardens by the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Drive Take a walk with Samsung Electronics Singapore during its first Galaxy Walkathon, which takes place on Sept 13 at The Kallang.<\/p>\n The 5km route will take participants around the Kallang precinct. By completing the route, participants should gain roughly 6,100 steps towards their daily step count \u2013 a nod to Singapore\u2019s 61st National Day in 2026.<\/p>\n Registration for this community event is free and open until Sept 4. Those who register will receive an exclusive event T-shirt and will also have the opportunity to win prizes such as the latest Galaxy smartwatches.<\/p>\n Samsung will be supporting the Singapore Heart Foundation with a monetary contribution and participants are invited to make a donation of their own.<\/p>\n Where:<\/b> The Kallang, 1 Stadium Drive The Green-House sustainability festival returns to Temasek Shophouse.<\/p>\n PHOTO: GREEN-HOUSE<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Sustainability festival Green-House returns for its fifth edition from Aug 28 to 30, with extended opening hours until 10pm, in collaboration with Singapore Night Festival 2026.<\/p>\n A key highlight of the festival, taking place at Temasek Shophouse, is What Does Your Tomorrow Respond To?, a day-to-night installation by automotive brand Mercedes-Benz.\u00a0<\/p>\n The installation was crafted from 800 discarded aluminium cans collected from local waste streams by environmental services and waste management company Cora. The lighting and kinetic parts of the installation are powered by energy captured <\/b>by solar panels on the installation during the day.\u00a0<\/p>\n More than 70 other brands are also presenting their own activations. Among them is skincare, bodycare and fragrances label L\u2019Occitane en Provence, which is hosting an on-site collection point for visitors to drop off clean, dry, empty beauty-product bottles.
