{"id":8036,"date":"2025-11-01T07:47:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T23:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=8036"},"modified":"2025-11-01T07:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T23:47:11","slug":"full-time-in-house-security-officers-to-get-annual-pay-rise-of-up-to-6-9-for-3-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=8036","title":{"rendered":"Full-time in-house security officers to get annual pay rise of up to 6.9% for 3 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 Full-time in-house security officers will get an annual salary bump of $160 over the next three years \u2013 a rise of up to 6.9 per cent per year for the most junior officers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">About 1,500 full-time in-house security officers in Singapore will benefit from the move, said the Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Home Affairs in a joint media release on Oct 30. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">This came after the Government accepted the Security Tripartite Cluster\u2019s (STC) recommendations on the Security Progressive Wage Model (PWM). <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">From Jan 1, 2026, the monthly wage for entry-level officers will rise to at least $2,475, up from the current baseline of $2,315. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The baseline will continue to increase annually, reaching $2,795 by 2028 \u2013 although the PWM wage from January 2028 may be adjusted upwards if the economic situation improves. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">For in-house security officers in senior and supervisory roles, they will see an annual pay increase of up to 6.4 per cent in the next three years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">But for senior security supervisors, whose salaries are already generally above the bottom 20th wage percentile, their pay will be \u201cleft to market forces\u201d, the ministries said.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The recommended wage growth was\u00a0put forth by the STC, a workgroup comprising representatives from the Government, unions, industry associations, employers and service buyers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Part-time in-house security officers, who work fewer than 35 hours a week, will also benefit from the pay rise.
