These include the following:

Xiaomi 17T Pro

POCO X8 Pro Max

POCO X8 Pro

Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro

Redmi Pad 2 Pro

Redmi Pad 2.

The steepest increase is ¥20,000 (~S$159), which applies to both configurations of the Xiaomi 17T Pro, POCO X8 Pro Max and POCO X8 Pro.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro will see more modest increases of ¥10,000 (~S$80) for the 12GB/512GB model and ¥5,000 (~S$40) for the 8GB/128GB configuration.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro (6GB/128GB) and Redmi Pad 2 (4GB/128GB) will receive the smallest price hikes, at ¥2,000 (~S$16) and ¥3,000 (~S$24), respectively.

Like Apple and Google, Xiaomi said it had absorbed rising component costs for as long as possible, but continuing to do so was no longer sustainable. The global memory chip shortage has sent memory prices soaring, putting pressure on manufacturers across the consumer electronics industry. And memory isn’t the only component becoming more expensive, with rising semiconductor, manufacturing, and logistics costs adding to the squeeze.

With the memory supply crunch expected to persist until 2030, manufacturers may continue adjusting prices as existing inventory is depleted and more expensive components make their way into new products.

For now, Xiaomi’s latest price adjustment is limited to the affected models and the Japanese market. But as component costs continue to climb, consumers in other markets may want to brace themselves for similar announcements.

Source: @XiaomiJapan via Android Authority

Xiaomi is the latest major Android device maker to raise prices, adding to a growing list of tech companies passing higher component costs on to…

[32
4063,4113,6064,4369,1964,223
post-80181","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tech-gadgets-reviews","tag-component","tag-costs","tag-due","tag-prices","tag-raises","tag-xiaomi","wpcat-32-id
["GET
