{"id":80016,"date":"2026-08-27T20:46:05","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=80016"},"modified":"2026-08-27T20:46:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:46:05","slug":"nepal-tibet-floods-singapore-red-cross-pledges-s50000-in-aid-launches-fundraising-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=80016","title":{"rendered":"Nepal-Tibet floods: Singapore Red Cross pledges S$50,000 in aid, launches fundraising appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>SINGAPORE: The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has pledged S$50,000 (US$39,000) <span>in humanitarian aid to support response and relief efforts in <\/span><span>flood-hit Nepal<\/span><span>, it said on Thursday (Aug 27).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>More than 1,000 people, including <\/span><span>nine Singaporeans<\/span><span>, are <\/span><span>missing<\/span><span> in the <\/span>Himalayan country and neighbouring China after a wall of ice, mud and rock collapsed into a mountain river, triggering a catastrophic flash flood.<\/p>\n<p><span>Its pledge will support humanitarian assistance, including the distribution of drinking water and emergency supplies, such as tarpaulins, blankets, sleeping mats, first aid kits, and body bags, SRC said in a media release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A <\/span><span>public fundraising appeal<\/span><span> will also be launched on Friday.
