A 53-year-old man was found dead in a residential unit at a Housing and Development Board (HDB) block in Tampines on Tuesday (Aug 25) night.<\/p>\n
When AsiaOne reached the scene at Block 448 Tampines Street 42 at about 11.30pm, a police car was seen parked downstairs.<\/p>\n
A male eyewitness who did not wish to be named told AsiaOne that two fire engines and an ambulance were also present at the scene earlier.<\/p>\n
The man, who was hosting a TikTok livestream at that time, was told by a viewer \u2014 who claimed to be a resident residing on the ninth floor \u2014 that he had heard a loud “bang” and felt some vibrations earlier.<\/p>\n
AsiaOne understands that this was when authorities tried to gain access to the 53-year-old’s unit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
By about 12.30am, several people, including those from the deceased’s family, were seen outside the unit. More people arrived at the unit on the higher floor over the next two hours.<\/p>\n
At about 1.20am, specialists from the Criminal Investigation Department’s forensics division arrived to conduct scene documentation.<\/p>\n

A police hearse subsequently arrived to remove the body at about 2.15am.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In response to AsiaOne’s queries, the police stated that the man was found lying motionless in the said unit and was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The police added that they do not suspect foul play based on preliminary investigations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n
