A woman was dismayed to see a child apparently defecating<\/a> on a piece of paper outside Serangoon MRT station on the morning of Aug 26.<\/p>\n Stomper Lin <\/strong>said the incident occurred near Exit A at about 8.24am.<\/p>\n She shared a photo showing a woman squatting while holding a young child over some paper laid out on a grass patch next to a covered walkway.<\/p>\n Another woman is seen standing just behind them.<\/p>\n Lin shared that a toilet was located about 20m away and said she approached the woman to point this out.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I told her there\u2019s a toilet just right at the corner, she said, \u2018I know, I know\u2019 in Chinese, but continued to do it,\u201d alleged the Stomper.<\/p>\n She added that numerous pedestrians were passing by at the time as the incident occurred just outside the MRT station.<\/p>\n The Stomper, who is also a mother, stressed that she did not blame the child for what happened.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not the kid\u2019s fault,\u201d she said. \u201cI do understand the kid might not be able to control it as I am a mother myself, but the toilet is nearby. Why can\u2019t they just go there?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey had time to find a paper for the kid to s*** there instead of bringing her to the toilet<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Lin was particularly bothered because there were two adults accompanying the child.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not like only one adult had no way to handle it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She stated it was the first time she had witnessed such an incident in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel disgusted,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t like to see my neighbourhood like this.\u201d<\/p>\n Urinating or defecating in public is an offence under the\u00a0Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to the\u00a0National Environment Agency (NEA)<\/a>, those found urinating or defecating in public will be\u00a0fined $300<\/a>.
