A 29-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs following an accident along Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Tuesday (Aug 25).<\/p>\n
He was seen in a video being restrained by another man when he tried to escape and appeared to have thrown a vape item over the expressway bridge.<\/p>\n
Footage of the incident, posted to TikTok by user JustPlayProduction on Tuesday, shows two men struggling on the BKE as one attempts to restrain the other.<\/p>\n
The man being restrained is seen grabbing onto the bridge and fighting the other man before he manages to throw a small item off the bridge.<\/p>\n
According to the TikTok user, the man being restrained had crashed into a Mercedes-Benz GLS along the expressway.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Mercedes car, who provided the user with the footage, said that he noticed the reckless driver “shaking violently with slurred speech” when he confronted him.<\/p>\n
The reckless driver also attempted to escape when he realised that the Mercedes driver was calling the police. As such, the Mercedes driver restrained him to prevent him from escaping.<\/p>\n
The Mercedes driver also claimed that the item thrown off the bridge was a Kpod.<\/p>\n
In another video posted by the same user at midnight on Wednesday, a black Mazda can be seen swerving from left to right on the right-most lane of the expressway.<\/p>\n
Several motorcyclists are seen dodging him as he swerved into their lane and almost hit them.<\/p>\n
The almost five-minute-long video also depicts the Mazda driver switching to the left-most lane before proceeding to exit on Turf Club Ave.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The TikTok user clarified that the Mazda driver depicted is the man who threw his vape over the bridge and that the video came from the dash cam footage of the Mercedes driver who restrained him.<\/p>\n
Responding to AsiaOne’s queries, the Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to an accident involving two cars along BKE towards PIE on Aug 25 at about 5.35pm.<\/p>\n
The police said that there were no injuries reported but a 29-year-old male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.<\/p>\n
The Singapore Civil Defence Force also assessed one person for minor injuries, who declined to be taken to a hospital, when they were alerted to the a road traffic accident along BKE towards PIE at about 5.50pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n
