A car was caught on camera running a red light in Bukit Batok on the evening of Aug 23, leaving a witness concerned and upset.<\/p>\n
Stomper DD<\/strong> shared dashcam footage of the incident that occurred along Bukit Batok West Avenue 5 at around 6.48pm.<\/p>\n He noted that the driver \u201cbeat the red light<\/a> and did not stop\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel angry with these kinds of reckless drivers,\u201d said DD. \u201cI reported the incident to the Traffic Police, as such reckless driving can cause accidents involving pedestrians.\u201d<\/p>\n The Stomper said he often comes across such behaviour on the road and called for stiffer penalties.<\/p>\n \u201cFine the drivers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n When informed that the offence of failing to conform to traffic light signals carries a penalty of 12 demerit points and a $400 fine<\/a> for light vehicles, DD told Stomp: \u201c$400 is okay lah for now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDrivers need to always be alert when driving on the roads,\u201d he said, citing examples of reckless behaviour.<\/p>\n \u201cUsing the phone while driving<\/a> is a killer.
