To most people, \u201cterroir\u201d means the natural environment in which wines and whiskies are produced, and which gives them their unique characteristics.<\/p>\n
To Beijing-born whisky distiller Yang Tao, it can also mean the human spirit. He showcases this in The Chuan, \u201cChina\u2019s first prestige malt whisky\u201d, launched in mainland China in December 2023 and in Hong Kong in August 2025.<\/p>\n
