SINGAPORE \u2013 Two people were taken to hospital after one of two accidents occurred near the same road junction in Tampines over the weekend.<\/p>\n
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the first accident at the junction of Tampines Street 84 and Tampines Street 85, at about 8.40am on Aug 22. The accident involved three cars, the police said.<\/p>\n
A 60-year-old male car driver and his 33-year-old female passenger were taken conscious to Changi General Hospital.<\/p>\n
On Aug 23, the police and SCDF were alerted to a separate incident involving two cars at the junction of Tampines Street 85 and Tampines Avenue 8, at about 2.40pm.<\/p>\n
Two people were assessed for minor injuries and declined to be taken to hospital, SCDF said.<\/p>\n
A 53-year-old female driver is assisting with investigations, the police said.<\/p>\n
In a video of the Aug 22 accident shared on TikTok, two black cars are seen blocking a filter lane on Tampines Avenue 8, heading towards Tampines Street 85. One car faces the right flank of the other, which appears to have struck the kerb.<\/p>\n
The third car can be seen a few metres away, within the yellow box of the cross junction.<\/p>\n
In a separate video of the Aug 23 accident, a grey car with a badly damaged bonnet is seen stopped along the side of the road near the cross junction.<\/p>\n
A white car is seen several metres behind it within the yellow box.<\/p>\n
Police investigations into both accidents are ongoing.<\/p>\n
The number of traffic accidents resulting in injuries is on the rise, climbing about 7 per cent from 7,053 cases in 2024 to 7,560 cases in 2025.<\/p>\n
Failure to keep a proper lookout was the most common cause of accidents in 2025, accounting for 52 per cent of all cases.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
