A badly damaged Singapore flag has prompted a member of the public to remind others to be mindful when displaying the National Flag.<\/p>\n
Stomper Steven Yong<\/strong> spotted the flag at around 4pm on Aug 16 while he was parking his car at Tai Thong Crescent.<\/p>\n In a short video sent to Stomp, more than half of the flag appears to be badly damaged, leaving only a small strip of red and white fabric visible.<\/p>\n Steven described the sight as \u201cdisrespectful to my country\u201d.<\/p>\n He shared what he saw to encourage others to be mindful of the condition of Singapore\u2019s National Flag when displaying it.<\/p>\n \u201cRather not display than to display a torn flag,\u201d he said, adding that he feels worn-out flags should be discarded properly.<\/p>\n The sighting comes amid several recent reports by other Stompers about Singapore flags being displayed improperly.<\/p>\n On Aug 20, Stomp reported on flags being hung together with underwear and another flag that was covered by a carpet<\/a>.<\/p>\n In late July, a faded, torn and tattered Singapore flag was also spotted at Block 178B Hougang Street 12<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to National Heritage Board (NHB) guidelines<\/a>, the National Flag should:<\/p>\n Have something to say?
