SINGAPORE \u2013 Water supply to 17 homes in a private estate in Bukit Timah was temporarily disrupted after a pipe leak on Aug 22, said PUB.<\/p>\n
The national water agency was alerted to the leak in King\u2019s Road at around 5am on Aug 22, said a spokesperson on Aug 23.<\/p>\n
PUB deployed service crew to isolate the water mains for repairs. Water supply to 17 units was affected, but a water wagon was deployed to provide temporary water supply, it added.<\/p>\n
To facilitate repair works, a section of King\u2019s Road was temporarily closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Repairs were completed and water supply was restored to all affected units at 2pm on the same day, said PUB.<\/p>\n
A video sent by a resident to Shin Min Daily News shows a jet of water \u2013 resembling a small fountain \u2013 gushing up from the ground, creating a pool of water on the road surface.<\/p>\n
PUB is investigating the cause of the pipe leak.<\/p>\n
There have been a few other cases of pipe leaks and burst pipes in 2026.<\/p>\n
Such leaks caused flooding in Yishun in May<\/span><\/a> and in Ang Mo Kio in January, while burst pipes disrupted water supply to HDB neighbourhoods including Pek Kio in June and Boon Keng in January.<\/p>\n The incident in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 caused water to overflow into a nearby SPC petrol station,<\/span><\/a> while about 25 shops in Yishun\u2019s Chong Pang neighbourhood were affected after an underground pipe leaked and led to flooding in the area.<\/p>\n A burst pipe in a Housing Board block in Pek Kio disrupted water supply for more than seven hours, while residents of\u00a029 households\u00a0in a Boon Keng HDB block could not use their toilets<\/span><\/a> for hours\u00a0because of a burst sewage pipe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
