Four years after it was first announced, Kingdom Hearts 4<\/b> finally has something resembling a release date. Square Enix and Disney confirmed during the recent D23 2026<\/b> event that the game is expected to arrive in late 2027.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t get your hopes high for now though, as it is still a fairly broad window \u2013 and the situation is still fluid \u2013 but at least fans and gamers now have some idea of when they will be able to continue Sora\u2019s story. The previous mainline entry, Kingdom Hearts 3, was released back in 2019, which means the eventual waiting period between both games will be close to nine years.<\/p>\n
A new trailer was also shown during the Disney showcase, where we now know that the game will feature a world inspired by Pixar\u2019s Coco. Miguel and Hector will join Sora during his visit, but it remains unclear how large a role the world will play in the overall story. An extended version of the trailer was subsequently screened during a dedicated Kingdom Hearts panel at D23. Disney says the franchise has now sold more than 39 million copies worldwide.<\/p>\n
