A Chinese tourist who was captured in a viral video causing a disturbance at KLIA Terminal 1 yesterday has been admitted to the psychiatric ward at Kajang Hospital for treatment.<\/p><\/div>\n

KLIA police chief Ravi Munusamy said the 27-year-old woman was in the international departure hall at 1.19pm when she allegedly began shouting in Mandarin and disturbing other travellers by running, singing and dancing.<\/p>\n

\u201cTerminal security personnel who arrived at the scene to calm her down brought her to the Terminal 1 police station for further action,\u201d he said in a statement today.<\/p>\n

Ravi said initial investigations found that the woman arrived in Malaysia with a friend on Aug 6 and was scheduled to return to China on Aug 18.<\/p>\n

She was taken to Kajang Hospital for further treatment, with the Chinese embassy also informed of the incident, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect is in stable condition and is still receiving treatment at the hospital,\u201d Ravi said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe woman was suspected to be mentally unwell and was not believed to be under the influence of drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ravi urged members of the public not to engage in conduct that could cause alarm or disturbance in public places, particularly at KLIA Terminals 1 and 2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
