You\u2019re not short of options when it comes to True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds. The market is currently full of them, fit for people of all budgets, including those shopping around around the $100 mark. However, while this specific price range has a decent list of options, it\u2019s always notable when a wireless earbud of a higher price tier ends up being discounted, and ends up standing out from the crowd.<\/p>\n
Nothing\u2019s Ear Wireless Earbuds fit that description. It\u2019s approaching two years old, but it has some attractive traits including Nothing\u2019s distinctive design, a suite of features found on some higher-end wireless earbuds, and the fact that it\u2019s currently half its usual price.<\/p>\n
$108.09 <\/b> Nothing Ear wireless earbuds<\/p>\n Image: Nothing<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Despite the name, this is Nothing\u2019s third-generation wireless earbuds \u2013 the company\u2019s latest, the Ear (3), came out after this one \u2013 and the fact that it\u2019s two years old may have something to do with it having such a low price. However, despite its age, it still packs a whole host of features, as well as handling its audio quality fundamentals decently.<\/p>\n This deal is also pretty significant because the Nothing Ear is currently sold out on the company\u2019s website. And although it doesn\u2019t show it, the $108.09 price on Amazon is indeed a discounted price \u2013 it originally released with an MSRP of $229 back in 2024.<\/p>\n As you would expect of an earbud of its original price range, the Nothing Ear comes with active noise cancellation. However, it\u2019s a little bit smarter here than on most normal wireless buds. Smart ANC detects for noise leakage between the earbud and ear canal (which could happen if your fit isn\u2019t perfect), and compensates by adjusting the noise cancellation strength. Additionally, Adaptive ANC detects ambient noise levels around you, and can adjust the amount of noise cancellation being applied as well.<\/p>\n And if you want a bit more control over what you can or can\u2019t hear, the Nothing X app also offers three levels of noise cancelling. All in all, it can cancel up to 45dB of noise.<\/p>\n The Nothing Ear uses a single 11mm dynamic driver with a dual-chamber design. To be clear, it\u2019s not unique to the Ear as it\u2019s implemented in other Nothing earbuds, but it allows for better air excursion. The driver also features ceramic diaphragms, which, as we found in our reviews of Nothing earbuds over the years, perform better than the PMI + TPU diaphragms currently used in some other Nothing earbuds including, strangely, the latest Ear (3) earbuds. It\u2019s not often we find a older product performing better than its successor.<\/p>\n The Nothing Ear supports the usual SBC and AAC codecs, but also the high-res LDAC and LHDC 5.0 codecs.<\/p>\n Apart from the audio quality and active noise cancellation, the Ear (a) also has a host of other smaller features that add up to make it a convenient earbud to use. This includes IP54 protection for the earbuds themselves (IP55 for the case), Nothing\u2019s Clear Voice tech, which utilises three onboard mics in each bud to cancel out background noise during calls, and customisable controls via the Nothing X app.\u00a0<\/p>\n Speaking of which, the Nothing X app itself also contains other features that complement the Nothing Ear.
