Fresh off the record-breaking debut of the Galaxy Z Fold8 in South Korea, the company is reportedly planning to expand its foldable portfolio even further in 2027, with as many as six different foldable smartphones in development<\/b>.<\/p>\n
According to ETNews, Samsung\u2019s 2027 foldable roadmap could include a regular Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip, TriFold successor, and two new wide-form-factor foldables.<\/p>\n
The biggest surprise is the addition of two wide foldable models<\/b>, suggesting Samsung sees growing demand for the shorter, wider form factor introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold8. One of the upcoming wide models is reportedly being designed with widescreen video<\/b> in mind.<\/p>\n
Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold8\u2019s 4:3-style<\/b> inner display, which can leave black bars when watching YouTube or Netflix, the new model is said to feature a display ratio better suited for cinematic content. This would appeal to users who spend more time streaming videos on the larger inner screen.<\/p>\n
ETNews did not reveal how Samsung plans to differentiate the pair of wide foldable models, but the two devices could target different audiences<\/b>. One could be for productivity, while the other is optimised for media consumption.
