There are gaming mice with a few additional buttons, and then there is the Razer Naga \u2013 a gaming mouse best known for putting what is effectively a small keypad under your thumb. Although it began life with MMO players firmly in mind, the Naga has been able to adapt to other game genres since the Naga Trinity<\/b> introduced interchangeable side plates way back in 2017, a design later carried over to the wireless Naga Pro and Naga V2 Pro.<\/p>\n
The newly announced Razer Naga V3 Pro<\/b> continues with that familiar formula, but adds more controls and upgraded hardware. It comes with three interchangeable magnetic side plates and offers as many as 23 programmable buttons<\/b>.<\/p>\n Photo: Razer<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n There\u2019s the 12-button plate for your favourite MMOs, a six-button hexagonal layout intended for MOBAs and battle royale games, and lastly, a conventional two-button option for FPS titles and everyday use. These plates snap into place magnetically, so you do not need any tools when moving from, say, World of Warcraft to Counter-Strike 2. It is not a new idea for the Naga series, then, but it remains the feature that makes the mouse useful beyond MMOs.<\/p>\n Razer has also brought back the ring-finger button that disappeared from the Naga V2 Pro, although it now comes with a physical lock to prevent accidental presses. Two additional buttons beside the left mouse button provide quick access to DPI adjustments, while up to five profiles can be stored on the mouse. The side buttons now use doubleshot-moulded legends as well, which should prevent their markings from wearing away over time.<\/p>\n Another notable upgrade is the second-generation HyperScroll Tilt Wheel<\/b>. Apart from its regular 24-step tactile setting, it offers a finer 48-step Precision Tactile mode for scrolling through inventories and abilities. Free-Spin mode removes most of the resistance for quickly moving through lengthy pages, while Smart-Reel switches between tactile and free-spinning behaviour according to how quickly the wheel is moved.<\/p>\n Inside, the Naga V3 Pro uses Razer\u2019s Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3<\/b>, which supports sensitivity settings of up to 50,000 dpi. Its fourth-generation optical mouse switches are rated for more than 100 million clicks and require 12 per cent less actuation force than the previous generation.
