A 43-second clip posted by The SG Daily on Aug 15 shows one man telling a woman to stop shouting<\/a>, while the woman shouts at him to stop pointing his finger at her.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat do you mean by show finger? I asked you to stop shouting,\u201d the man retorts.<\/p>\n \u201cStop, stop show finger to my face,\u201d the woman replies.<\/p>\n \u201cYou want me to show the middle finger?\u201d the man asks.<\/p>\n A man whom we later learn is a course marshal stands next to the arguing pair as another man appears and says: \u201cWait, wait, wait, I tell the marshal what happened first, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n But the quarrelling pair continue, trading insults in English and Hokkien. However, the same man allegedly picked up her friend\u2019s ball and threw it away as well.<\/p>\n After that, the two men \u201cdrive buggy (to) come find us\u201d, leading to the confrontation seen in the video.<\/p>\n When asked how she knew the men were from Singapore, the woman said they were driving a car with a Singapore-registered licence plate.<\/p>\n A commenter on The SG Daily\u2019s Instagram post, who claimed she was part of the same group, provided further details about the confrontation in remarks that have since been removed.<\/p>\n She alleged that one of the men shouted and pointed in her friend\u2019s face, while the other challenged the group to a fight. The men also allegedly threatened to have them banned from the golf course.<\/p>\n According to her, her friend raised her voice and pointed back only after the men allegedly threw away two balls, including one belonging to the 11-year-old boy, and confronted the group aggressively.<\/p>\n \u201cIf they believed our shots were unsafe, they could have spoken to the caddy or called the marshal. There was absolutely no reason for two grown men to intimidate a group of women and a child,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cTheir behaviour was completely unnecessary and unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n In a later comment, she said both groups continued playing after the scenes in the video.<\/p>\n Stomp has contacted the resort for more information.<\/p>\n Netizens seemed appalled by the behaviour of the golfers<\/a> in the video, with opinion divided over who was at fault.<\/p>\n One said: \u201cFight with a woman (and) you deserve to be called whatever she said.\u201d<\/p>\n The woman in video was not spared criticism either, with one netizen saying: \u201cThe Vietnamese women obviously have no manners, no class.\u201d<\/p>\n Many, however, felt neither side came out looking particularly good.<\/p>\n \u201cProof that money cannot buy class,\u201d said one netizen.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough golf is often labelled as \u2018high-end,\u2019 \u2018health-conscious\u2019 or \u2018gentlemanly\u2019, the sport itself cannot filter or change a person\u2019s basic qualities,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n One commenter offered a more measured take, saying disagreements over pace of play or a ball landing near another group could happen on any golf course.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat really matters is how people handle the situation and communicate with each other,\u201d the user said, adding that any concerns could have been raised with the caddy or course marshal instead of someone picking up and throwing away another player\u2019s ball.<\/p>\n Another added: \u201cChill… It is just a game of golf.\u201d<\/p>\n A number of commenters saw the funny side of the altercation.<\/p>\n \u201cLegend has it that the man in the blue shirt is still trying to explain the facts,\u201d joked one, referring to the man\u2019s repeated attempts to tell the marshal what had happened.<\/p>\n \u201cSounds like a duck and chicken are having an argument,\u201d quipped another.<\/p>\n Some Malaysian commenters apparently had enough of both sides.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have enough problems!
