M1 Maxx says this makes it the first SIM-only plan in Singapore to include China within its local data allocation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">On paper, that is a small price-plan tweak. In practice, it is aimed at one of the more annoying parts of travel: landing overseas and immediately wondering whether to buy an eSIM, activate a roaming pass, hunt down a local SIM, or simply ration mobile data like it is 2012.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-m1-maxx-s-new-s-12-plan-offers-for-travellers-to-china\" class=\"_subHeading1_1k87u_111 _base_1k87u_1\">What M1 Maxx\u2019s new S$12 plan offers for travellers to China<\/h2>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The choice of China isn\u2019t just a snap decision as according to <u>YouGov\u2019s <\/u><b><u>Singapore International Traveller Outlook 2026<\/u><\/b>, China recorded the largest year-on-year jump in travel consideration among Singaporeans, rising by <b>6.6%<\/b>, and also saw the biggest improvement in favourability as a destination. YouGov\u2019s broader Singapore travel report also noted that rising travel costs are already affecting how international travellers plan trips, which makes bundled roaming and predictable monthly pricing more attractive than yet another travel add-on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">There is another reason China has become a more convenient destination for Singaporeans. <u>Since <\/u><b><u>9 February 2024<\/u><\/b>, Singapore ordinary passport holders have been able to enter China visa-free for stays of up to 30 days under a reciprocal arrangement between Singapore and China.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">As a SIm-only plan, for <b>S$12\/month<\/b> it offers:<\/p>\n<div class=\"_nested_1lq60_1\">\n<ul class=\"_listElement_wioo3_107\">\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">600GB of data every 30 days. The data can be used in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Bangladesh and India<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">20GB of APAC roaming across 20 countries, including China, Japan and South Korea<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">7GB of international roaming across more than 100 countries and destinations<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">Unlimited voice roaming<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">600 minutes of IDD calls to selected countries<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">500 minutes of local outgoing calls<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">Unlimited local incoming calls<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">50 local SMS<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">Choice of eSIM or physical SIM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The plan also covers <b>voice roaming in China<\/b>, with calls made via <b>VoLTE<\/b> and no International Direct Dialling charges. M1 says this is made possible through partnerships with <b>China Mobile<\/b> and <b>China Telecom<\/b>, the country\u2019s two largest network operators. Even better, we\u2019ve confirmed that M1 subscribers can bypass the Great Firewall of China and access Whasapp, Google, Gmail, and Facebook, that they would normally be unable to when in China.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Mustafa Kapasi, Chief Operating Officer of M1, says Maxx delivers seamless connectivity in Singapore, with China and other popular destinations included within a generous local data allocation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">That \u201csingle plan\u201d message is where the offer lands hardest. Singapore\u2019s SIM-only market has become increasingly crowded, and bundled roaming is now common enough that large data allowances alone no longer feel special. StarHub, for example, lists a S$12\/month 4G prepaid plan with 300GB of local data, 300GB of Southeast Asia roaming data, unlimited local calls and SMS, and up to 500 IDD minutes to selected destinations including Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">What M1 Maxx is trying to do differently is to frame China, India and Bangladesh not as bolt-on roaming destinations, but as part of one unified local data bucket. For customers who frequently travel between Singapore and these markets, that is likely to be the hook. It is less about headline gigabytes and more about reducing the number of things a user has to think about before flying.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The enhanced <b>M1 Maxx S$12\/month pla<\/b><b>n<\/b> is available for a limited period from <b>7 July to 3 August 2026<\/b>.
