Goh Hock Siang, the chairman of Goh Joo Hin, died on Thursday (Aug 13) at the age of 87.<\/p>\n
He was the second-generation chairman of the company, <\/strong>a local brand known for its distribution of New Moon, including abalone, its flagship product.<\/p>\n According to obituaries published on Friday, <\/strong>he passed away peacefully, leaving behind four sons and a daughter.<\/p>\n Other prominent brands under Goh Joo Hin’s portfolio include Mili, Skippy, Sony and GP Batteries, with a market presence in at least 17 other countries.<\/p>\n The company was bought over by his father, Goh Yeow Gek, in the 1940s.<\/p>\n Currently, the company is being led by <\/strong>one of his sons, Goh Kai Kui, the third-generation CEO.<\/p>\n Goh Hock Siang was known to be a philanthropist, reported Chinese publication Lianhe Zaobao, adding that he used to be a sponsor of the Joo Chiat Community Club management committee.<\/p>\n In 2024, he was awarded the National Day Public Service Medal.<\/p>\n Besides community service, he was also actively involved in Teochew organisations such as the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan, where he served as president.<\/p>\n His wake will be held at the Teochew Funeral Parlour in Ubi, and the cortege will leave for Mandai Crematorium on Monday at 10.40am.<\/p>\n [[nid:742561]]<\/p>\n dana.leong@asiaone.com<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Goh Hock Siang, the chairman of Goh Joo Hin, died on Thursday (Aug 13) at the age of 87.
