\u201cIf there’s a need for parents to be informed of any discomfort by the children, then teachers do proactively contact parents during the day to let them know and ensure that the children do seek timely medical attention, if necessary,\u201d said Ms Lim.<\/span><\/p>\n

In June, EtonHouse\u00a0reached out to families to update its list of children with asthma and other chronic heart or lung conditions so staff can look out for symptoms and be aware of what action to take if necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Little Seeds Preschool has also\u00a0<\/span>updated\u00a0its medical logs, and\u00a0<\/span>urged\u00a0parents to assess their children\u2019s health before sending them to school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms Swee-Seet said\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0while the preschool has air purifiers to maintain indoor air quality, children could\u00a0<\/span>still\u00a0be exposed to haze while travelling between home and\u00a0<\/span>school.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOnce you find that your child is \u2026 not feeling that well, or they have symptoms like watery eyes and they’re coughing a bit more in the morning, please do keep them home because it’s safer,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
