The updated Lotus Eletre and Emeya arrive in Singapore with more equipment fitted as standard and lower starting prices.<\/em><\/p>\n

Coming shortly after the Singapore showcase of the Evija hypercar, the refreshed range also serves to underline a broader point from Lotus: the engineering lessons behind its 2,000hp-plus halo car are increasingly filtering down into models intended to be driven every day.<\/p>\n

The Eletre and Emeya were developed by the same team responsible for the Evija, led by Gavan Kershaw, Director of Attributes at Lotus Cars and one of the figures responsible for shaping the dynamic character of the company\u2019s modern cars.<\/p>\n

The modern interpretation is inevitably rather different from the lightweight sports cars traditionally associated with Hethel. The Eletre is a sizeable luxury SUV, while the Emeya is a five-seat electric GT. Neither could reasonably be described as following Colin Chapman\u2019s famous philosophy of simply adding lightness. Instead, Lotus has applied its expertise elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Adaptive suspension, active aerodynamics and chassis tuning are used to disguise mass and retain the ride and handling characteristics expected of the badge, while electric motors provide the sort of performance that would once have required something far more exotic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Evija demonstrates what Lotus engineering is capable of at its very highest level,\u201d said Ian Grant, General Manager of Lotus Cars Singapore.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Eletre and Emeya bring that same philosophy into vehicles that can be enjoyed every day, without compromising the dynamic qualities that have defined Lotus for more than 75 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

More Equipment Comes As Standard<\/h2>\n

Every Eletre and Emeya continues to receive a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain producing at least 600hp, together with Lotus Adaptive Air Suspension and active aerodynamics.<\/p>\n

Standard equipment now also includes KEF Premium Audio with Dolby Atmos, soft-close doors, configurable ambient lighting and tri-colour seatbelts. The Eletre receives 22-inch alloy wheels, while the lower-slung Emeya gets 21-inch items, both fitted with Lotus-specific Pirelli tyres.<\/p>\n

A More Accessible Starting Point<\/h2>\n

The Eletre 600\u2019s S$375,300 starting price positions it as the entry point to Lotus\u2019 electric SUV range, while the Emeya 600 begins slightly lower at S$373,800. Both prices exclude COE and options.<\/p>\n

Lotus Singapore says Open Market Values exceed S$100,000 across the model range, and is positioning the combination of generous standard equipment and revised pricing as one of the MY27 cars\u2019 main selling points.<\/p>\n

More Luxury With The Eletre 600 SE<\/h2>\n

Customers wanting something more lavish can step up to the Eletre 600 SE. The higher specification adds an intelligent glass roof, rear-wheel steering and a Comfort Seat Pack, alongside additional premium appointments.<\/p>\n

Its audio system also receives a substantial upgrade. In place of the standard KEF Premium system is a 23-speaker KEF Reference Audio setup producing 2,160 watts.<\/p>\n

Rear-wheel steering is arguably the more interesting addition from a driving perspective. In a vehicle with the Eletre\u2019s dimensions, turning the rear wheels can improve low-speed manoeuvrability while also contributing to stability and agility at higher speeds.<\/p>\n

A Different Kind Of Lotus<\/h2>\n

The Eletre and Emeya demonstrate just how dramatically Lotus has changed.<\/p>\n

That does not mean pretending a five-seat electric SUV is an Elise with a taller roof. Rather, the challenge is preserving the characteristics that made those older cars special while delivering the space, comfort and technology expected of a contemporary luxury vehicle.<\/p>\n
