keeping it accessible when I need it.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-30-jul-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">latest 6-month Singapore T-bill cut-off yield has risen further to 1.59%<\/a>, , while <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/singapore-best-fixed-deposit-rate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the best fixed deposit rates in Singapore have also moved higher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/best-savings-accounts-singapore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Savings accounts are also becoming more competitive<\/a> with many offering attractive promotions and rates.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/tools\/ssb-interest-rate-projection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">latest Singapore Savings Bond (SSB) issued was also higher than the previous month, with a 10-year average return of 2.25%.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With these changes, I have seen more discussion in the <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/BeansproutSG\">Beansprout community<\/a> about where best to park our spare cash, while keeping our <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/liquidity-pot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liquidity pot<\/a> accessible for short-term needs.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, I\u2019ll compare some popular options such as T-bills, fixed deposits, Singapore Savings Bonds (SSBs), savings accounts and money market funds to find out which options offer the best yields in August.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"latest-6-month-singapore-t-bill-offers-yield-of-1.59%\">Latest 6-month Singapore T-bill offers yield of 1.59%<\/h2>\n<p>Firstly, let&#8217;s take a look at the latest 6-month Singapore T-bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The cut-off yield on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-30-jul-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">6-month T-bill in Singapore rose to 1.59% in the recent auction on 30 July 2026<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This represents an increase in yield from the previous <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-16-jul-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">6-month T-bill auction on 16 July 2026.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">With the increase in the latest auction, the 6-month Singapore T-bill yield would be highest <\/span>since the start of the <\/strong>up to 1.68% p.a.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px;\">If you are looking for a simple savings account without having to credit your salary or spend on a credit card, the <a You can earn 1.60% p.a. for the first 88 days, followed by 1.70% p.a. for the next 100 days, which works out to an effective interest rate of about 1.65% p.a. over 188 days. However, you must maintain the funds without making any withdrawals during the selected period.<\/p>\n<p>For those with smaller cash balances, the SingFinance GoSavers Account is a simple, fuss-free option. It offers 1.30% p.a. on the first S$100,000 without additional requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Those who do not already have a <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/maribank-savings-account-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mari Savings Account<\/a> can also consider its new-user promotion. New customers can earn 2.48% p.a. on the first S$100,000 for their first 30 days, comprising the prevailing interest rate of 0.88% p.a. and a 1.60% p.a. new-user bonus. prefer an SDIC insured product, then I would stick to savings accounts and fixed deposits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ck-list-marker-bold\" data-list-item-id=\"e888ddd97b670d21370a425d95e6de871\"><strong>Will I need the money on short notice?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If liquidity is of importance, as I may need the cash for other uses in short notice, then I may prefer savings accounts where I can have instant withdrawals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ck-list-marker-bold\" data-list-item-id=\"efaa0f0fae9834b3317df002311001f65\"><strong>Do I want to lock in the yields for a longer time period?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If I am looking to lock in the current high interest rates for a period of up to 10 years and not have to worry about reinvestment risks, then the Singapore Savings Bonds allow me to do so while having the flexibility to redeem anytime.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ck-list-marker-bold\" data-list-item-id=\"ebd7104e86207b19a9cd809d5518a5691\"><strong>Do I have any use for the cash in US dollars?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If I am looking to invest in US stocks or ETFs or have other uses of US dollars, then I may consider the US dollar denominated fixed deposits, money market funds or Treasuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, I may face foreign currency risks when converting the money back into Singapore dollar in future.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-would-beansprout-do?-\"><strong>What woul<\/strong>d Beansprout do?\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve been thinking more about how to structure my cash so I\u2019m prepared for unexpected needs while keeping it readily accessible when required.<\/p>\n<p>A key priority is ensuring that my<a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/liquidity-pot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> liquidity pot<\/a> within <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/four-pots-of-wealth\" href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/singapore-best-fixed-deposit-rate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best 6-month and 9-month fixed deposit rate.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The next <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-auction-13-aug-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upcoming 6-month T-bill auction will be on 13 August<\/a>. <a here.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If I can allow my cash to be locked up for a longer period of time, the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/singapore-best-fixed-deposit-rate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best 12 month fixed deposit rate is at 1.60% p.a.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I would also consider the Singapore Savings Bond for cash that I may not need immediately, as <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/tools\/ssb-interest-rate-projection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the latest SSB offers a 1-year return of 1.52% and a 10-year average return of 2.25% while still giving me the flexibility to redeem early.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For cash that I may need at short notice, I would keep part of it in a savings account.<\/p>\n<p>If I have fresh funds to move, I would consider <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/maybank-isavvy-account-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maybank iSavvy<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/reviews\/savings-account\/hsbc-everyday-global-account-ega-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HSBC Everyday Global Account (EGA)<\/a>, which offer promotional interest rates of up to 1.68% p.a. on eligible incremental balances.<\/p>\n<p>If I prefer a more predictable option, the OCBC Statement Savings Account offers an effective interest rate of about 1.65% p.a. over 188 days, although I would need to maintain at least S$50,000 without making withdrawals.<\/p>\n<p>For smaller balances, SingFinance GoSavers is another straightforward option, offering up to 1.30% p.a. on the first S$100,000 without additional requirements.<\/p>\n<p>If I am able to credit my salary, spend on an eligible credit card and grow my savings balance, the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/ocbc-360-account-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OCBC 360 Account<\/a> offers a higher effective interest rate of up to 2.20% p.a. on the first S$100,000.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/best-savings-accounts-singapore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Compare the best savings accounts in Singapore for
