Samsung\u2019s latest generation of foldable smartphones is off to a flying start. The Galaxy Z Fold8 series and Galaxy Z Flip8 have set a new pre-order record<\/b> in South Korea. According to The Korea Times, Samsung received more than 1.44 million pre-orders<\/b> for the new Galaxy Z lineup during its seven-day reservation period.<\/p>\n
The achievement eclipses Samsung\u2019s previous record holder, the Galaxy Note10, which amassed 1.38 million pre-orders over 11 days in 2019. It also comfortably surpasses the Galaxy S26 series, which recorded an impressive 1.35 million pre-orders earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy Z Fold8 was the standout performer, accounting for about 70% of all pre-orders<\/b>. Korean mobile carriers reported similar buying trends, with more than half of their customers<\/b> opting for Samsung\u2019s new wider foldable. The strong demand indicates strong consumer demand for new foldable form factors.<\/p>\n
There was also a noticeable shift in customer demographics. Samsung shared that the number of women aged between 10 and 40<\/b> purchasing the new foldable phones through Samsung\u2019s online store more than doubled<\/b> compared with the previous generation. In particular, both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 attracted a significantly higher proportion of female buyers than their predecessors,<\/p>\n
Consumers in Singapore can still pre-order the new Galaxy Z devices through Samsung and participating retailers. Those who place their orders now will be eligible for early delivery<\/b> or collection from 10 August<\/b>, ahead of the official retail launch.<\/p>\n
