By our count, Samsung has four different types of viable foldable phones at this juncture: the Galaxy Z TriFold, which repeatedly sold out in late 2025, two tried-and-tested form factors that got their 2026 refresh (Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8), and a brand new, passport-shaped Galaxy Z Fold8 that\u2019s the talk of the foldable town.<\/p>\n
Surely there must be a reason they now have more foldable models than conventional premium-tier devices, and why they are seemingly so well received. Did they also troubleshoot the creases and make the folding much less fragile? This confidence must come from somewhere.<\/p>\n
In our reporting, we were fortunate enough to chat with several Samsung decision-makers to understand where their headspace lies. We\u2019ve heard how the new Flex Titanium display module is supposed to work (and be better than before), and heard about their ambitions in a future where pocketable, multi-display, AI-powered smartphones are the norm.<\/p>\n
But none of these grand displays of skill and competency hit quite as close to home. That changed with the chance to sit down with Ronnie Ng, Vice President and Head of Mobile eXperience, Samsung Electronics Singapore<\/b>, to talk about where he sees Samsung going with so many foldable devices available to such a small population.<\/p>\n
