The surprise return of Ted Lasso is definitely the biggest premiere on Apple TV this August, but we\u2019re also going to get some decent variety from the quality-over-quantity service. There\u2019s an adorable animated series for the kids, a new sports doc, and, of course, plenty of sci-fi. <\/p>\n

What\u2019s New on Apple TV in August<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ted Lasso Season 4 – Premiering August 5<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ted Lasso is officially entering its fourth season. You might be thinking, didn\u2019t Ted (Jason Sudeikis) go home in a pretty conclusive ending<\/u> to Season 3? Well now he\u2019s back<\/u> in Richmond to coach a second division women\u2019s football team. Naturally, there will still be plenty of familiar faces, including Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Roy (Brett Goldstein), and Keeley (Juno Temple), coming along for the ride. <\/p>\n

Women in Blue Season 2 – Premiering August 12<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This crime thriller series takes place in the 70s, when four Mexican women who are used by a police force to distract from a serial killer decide to put in the work to try and crack the case. Also known as Las Azules, the series is theoretically inspired by real events. <\/p>\n

Stillwater Season 5 – Premiering August 21<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of Apple TV\u2019s few animated children\u2019s shows is coming back for a fifth season. Stillwater is based on Jon J. Muth\u2019s book series Zen, which tells stories of siblings who learn life lessons from their neighbor, Stillwater the panda. <\/p>\n

The Dynasty: UConn Huskies – Premiering August 21<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The only documentary addition for the month, The Dynasty: UConn Huskies will trace 40 years of women\u2019s basketball history at the University of Connecticut. The three-part series will cover the team\u2019s time with head coach Geno Auriemma, which saw them win 12 national championships. <\/p>\n

Dark Matter Season 2 – Premiering August 28<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dark Matter is an adaptation of a reality-bending book by Blake Crouch. In the words of Samantha Nelson, who reviewed the first season for IGN, \u201cIt\u2019s a tale of a protagonist so desperate to get back the people they love that they’ll tear down the walls between realities.\u201d Season 2 will continue to follow the Dessen family and the consequences of tearing down some of those multidimensional walls. <\/p>\n

Apple TV Full August 2026 Schedule <\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Aside from Stillwater and the UConn Huskies documentary, every Apple TV series will release new episodes each week. In a very satisfying turn of events, every new addition to Apple TV in August will be on Wednesdays and Fridays. <\/p>\n
