The previous two films have been blockbusters,\u00a0grossing a combined $1.7 billion\u00a0at the global box office&#8211;and we all know how Johnson is in dire need of a hit movie following a string of high-profile flops like 2022&#8217;s Black Adam and\u00a0the live-action version of Moana, where he reprised his role as the egotistical demigod Maui.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jumanji: Open World officially hits US theaters on December 25. The film was initially scheduled to arrive a little sooner, but the one-two punch of Dune: Part 3 and Avengers: Doomsday saw those plans change.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s a good time to be a fan of movies inspired by video games, as two more will arrive before the new Jumanji does.
