style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">The next <\/span>6-month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mas.gov.sg\/bonds-and-bills\/auctions-and-issuance-calendar\/auction-t-bill?issue_code=BS26115N&amp;issue_date=2026-08-04\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Singapore T-bill auction (BS26115N)<\/a> will be on 30 July.<\/p>\n<p>In the previous auction on 16 July, the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-16-jul-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut-off yield for the 6-month Singapore T-bill rose to 1.55%<\/a> from the yield of <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-2-jul-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1.50% in the previous auction on 2 July<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We have also seen the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-23-july-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut-off yield for the latest 1-year Singapore T-bill jumped to 1.68%<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the cut-off yield rising, I have seen more discussion in the <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/BeansproutSG\">Beansprout community<\/a> about whether Singapore T-bill yield could continue to increase.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, I\u2019ll look at some of the latest indicators to help us u<span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">nderstand what the upcoming cut-off yield might be.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img yield moved higher<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/quote\/us-10y-government-bond-yield\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10-year US government bond yield has increased to 4.70% as of 24 July 2026<\/a>, above its level of 4.54% two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>US government bond yields rose earlier in the week as renewed US-Iran tensions pushed oil prices past $100 a barrel, raising concerns that an energy price shock could keep inflation elevated.<\/p>\n<p>At its most recent meeting, the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/tools\/fedwatch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve also raised its inflation and rates outlook for 2026.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/quote\/us-10y-government-bond-yield\" bond yield was at 2.41% as of 23 July 2026, higher from 2.14% two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in the 10-year yield largely mirrored the steep rise in the US 10-year government bond Singapore government bonds.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.mas.gov.sg\/statistics\/masbills\/MASBillsAuctions.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut-off yield was at 1.48%<\/a> in the auction on 21 July 2026, slightly higher <span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">than the<\/span> cut-off yield of 1.47% on 14 July.<\/p>\n<figure upcoming 6-month Singapore T-bill is $8.6 billion, lower than the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-16-jul-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous auction size of auction on 16 July from S$17.4 billion in the auction on 2 July.<\/p>\n<p>If demand continues to fall in the upcoming auction, it may offset the reduced amount of T-bills issued, supporting the cut-off yield in the upcoming auction.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"what-would-beansprout-do?\">What would Beansprout do?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:white;\">The closing yield on the 6-month Singapore T-bill was at 1.53% on 23 July 2026<strong>,<\/strong><\/span> close to the cut-off yield in the previous auction.<\/p>\n<p>We have also seen a rise across all yields in both Singapore and the US.<\/p>\n<p>While there will be a lower amount of T-bills issued in the upcoming auction, the demand for T-bills has also been falling. This may help support the cut-off yield of the upcoming auction.<\/p>\n<div class=\"raw-html-embed\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/13519445\/embed\" title=\"Interactive or visual content\" class=\"flourish-embed-iframe\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"width:100%;height:600px;\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-forms allow-scripts allow-downloads allow-popups allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div style=\"width:100%!;margin-top:4px!important;text-align:right!important;\"><a class=\"flourish-credit\" href=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/visualisation\/13519445\/?utm_source=embed&amp;utm_campaign=visualisation\/13519445\" target=\"_top\" style=\"text-decoration:none!important\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Made with Flourish\" src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/made_with_flourish.svg\" style=\"width:105px!important;height:16px!important;border:none!important;margin:0!important;\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px;\">As we are at the mid point of 2026, I have been evaluating my financial plan to make sure it offers me sufficient security and peace of mind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px;\">The first step is to make sure I have sufficient cash put aside for emergency uses through my <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/liquidity-pot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liquidity pot<\/a> within <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/four-pots-of-wealth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beansprout&#8217;s four pots of wealth<\/a>, where I would then put into a mix of savings accounts, fixed deposits, T-bills, SSBs and money market funds. <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/liquidity-pot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Learn more about the liquidity pot here.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px;\">Then, I would see how I can earn a higher yield on this pot of emergency cash, while maintaining the liquidity I may need.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the closing yield on the 6-month Singapore T-bill of 1.53% is slightly lower the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/singapore-best-fixed-deposit-rate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best 6-month fixed deposit rate of 1.55% p.a.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While some banks have cut savings account interest rates over the past few months, we were still able to find<a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/best-savings-accounts-singapore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> savings accounts in Singapore that offer an interest rate of above 1.53% p.a.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/tools\/ssb-interest-rate-projection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">current issuance of the Singapore Savings Bonds (SSB) offers a 1-year return of 1.46%, and 10-year average return of 2.06% p.a.<\/a><span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">, while offering the flexibility to redeem prior to maturity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">I compare T-bills, SSBs, savings accounts, fixed deposits, and money market funds <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/tbills-vs-fixed-deposit-vs-ssb-yield-july-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to find the best places to park your cash in July 2026 here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Within my <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/four-pots-of-wealth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Four Pots of Wealth<\/a>, this cash forms part of my <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/liquidity-pot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liquidity pot<\/a>, which gives me a stable base while the rest of my portfolio remains invested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px;\">By keeping enough accessible cash in this pot, I am better able to ride through market volatility without having to sell my investments at the wrong time. <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/liquidity-pot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Learn more about the liquidity pot here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;\">The 6-month Singapore auction will be held on 30 July (Thursday).
