A lot is going on in the K-drama world lately, with various Korean stars being courted for a diverse range of new series, from a high-stakes thriller and a medical mystery to a family court drama and a romantic comedy.<\/p>\n

Outback<\/h3>\n
Jung Ho-yeon has been offered a role in the Netflix series Outback<\/em>, in what would be her first leading role in a Korean drama since her barnstorming debut in Squid Game<\/em><\/span> in 2021. Ryu Jun-yeol and Hong Kyung have also been reported to be in talks for the show.<\/div>\n

Based on the webtoon G\u2019Day<\/em>,<\/em> the series follows Shi-on, a man who heads to Australia in search of his missing older sister and meets a mysterious man, Hans.<\/p>\n

Jung appears in Na Hong-jin\u2019s big-budget sci-fi action-horror film Hope<\/em><\/span>, currently in South Korean cinemas after being presented in competition at the Cannes Film Festival<\/span> in May.<\/div>\n

Ryu, who last featured in Yeon Sang-ho\u2019s 2025 film Revelations<\/em><\/span>, will first star in the Netflix series Mousetrap<\/em> alongside Sul Kyung-gu. Hong, who also appeared alongside Sul, in 2025\u2019s acclaimed hijack comedy-thriller Good News<\/em><\/span>, most recently appeared in the disaster miniseries Concrete Market<\/em>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
