Seth Green\u2019s long-shelved animated Star Wars sitcom Star Wars: Detours will finally find itself in front of the public, albeit as an exhibit at George Lucas\u2019 soon-to-open Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, California. The news comes via an announcement from Green himself during a panel discussion on the museum at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.<\/u><\/p>\n

\u201cWe made a show with George, an animated series,\u201d said Green. \u201cHe wanted to make Simpsons in the Star Wars universe. It\u2019s called Detours, and there\u2019s\u2026 going to be a curation of episodes from that show on display for the public in the theater.\u201d<\/p>\n

Star Wars Detours was officially announced way back at Star Wars Celebration<\/u> in 2012, although Lucas and Green were broadly discussing the project in public as early as 2010.<\/u> A variety of clips were showcased around its 2012 reveal, but the series was shelved in the aftermath of Disney\u2019s acquisition of Lucasfilm the same year and its been missing in action ever since.<\/p>\n

Green discussed the status of Star Wars Detours with IGN in late 2013<\/u> at New York Comic-Con, confirming the crew had 39 episodes completed before the show was frozen in carbonite. <\/p>\n

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is set to open on September 22. Two theaters (the Robert Flaherty Theater and the Slavko Vorkapich Theater) will showcase curated film selections throughout the day for patrons to drop in and drop out of during their visit. <\/p>\n
