This naturally raises some problems with regards to nomenclature. What do you call this year\u2019s devices?<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The new wider foldable is now known as the Galaxy Z Fold8, while to distinguish the book-style folder that has always been in the lineup, Samsung has naturally called it the <b>Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra<\/b>. Very broadly, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is more compact thanks to its smaller displays and wider form factor. It also makes do with just two rear cameras, while the Z Fold8 Ultra has three. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra remains remarkably slim for a foldable phone.<\/p>\n<p>Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The basic ingredients of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra are mostly the same. <b>The cover screen is 6.5 inches and retains its 21:9 aspect ratio<\/b>. It\u2019s the same AMOLED display as last year\u2019s model, with a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The main display has been improved. It\u2019s still 8 inches\u00a0in size, and it still uses an AMOLED panel, but <b>the resolution has been bumped up slightly to 2504 x 2256 pixels<\/b>. The main 200-megapixel wide camera is unchanged, but <b>it now has an improved 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera <\/b>that Samsung says delivers better detail and clarity. If you recall, last year\u2019s model had a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The 10-megapixel telephoto camera is unchanged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">There are also significant improvements internally. To start, the Z Fold8 Ultra gets the latest <b>Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip<\/b>. It also has a larger<b> 5,000mAh battery<\/b> (up from 4,400mAh). Charging speeds have also been improved with support now for 45W wired charging (up from 25W) and 20W wireless charging (up from 15W). The Z Fold8 Ultra comes in four colours: <b>Graphite, Cream, Violet Shadow, and Green Shadow<\/b>.
