Tsuburaya Productions is bringing two long-awaited heroes to the Ultraman Card Game with Booster Pack 09 (BP09)<\/b>, titled Here He Comes! Our Hero!<\/b>, which will be released on 23 October 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The expansion also marks the trading card game debut of the original Ultraman<\/b>, a first from the Showa-era Ultraman series. He will be joined by Ultraman Cosmos<\/b>, another character that Tsuburaya says has been frequently requested by players.<\/p>\n
Their arrival coincides with the second anniversary of the Ultraman Card Game, but BP09 is more than a commemorative set. It will also introduce two additions that could substantially change how decks are constructed and played: Boost Cards and the new Color System.<\/p>\n
Boost Cards will become the game\u2019s third main card category alongside Character and Scene Cards. These cards draw upon recognisable parts of the wider Ultraman universe, including defence teams and items used throughout the series. That said, Tsuburaya has yet to explain their precise gameplay mechanics, with card effects and further details to be revealed closer to launch.<\/p>\n
Under the Color System, every Character Card will be assigned one of five colours: red, blue, purple, yellow or green. Cards released before BP09, as well as those without a colour attribute, will be treated as colourless and remain playable. Combined with Boost Cards, the system is intended to create more deck-building options and introduce new strategic and comeback possibilities.<\/p>\n Only 100 of these serialised original Ultraman card are available in BP08.<\/p>\n Image: Tsuburaya<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n As with existing series, BP09 packs will contain 12 cards each while a display box will have 24 packs. Unlike some earlier releases, however, BP09 display boxes will not include a box topper. The original Ultraman has also appeared ahead of his wider debut as a highly sought after serial-numbered card in BP08: Converging Bonds<\/b>, which was released earlier this month.<\/p>\n A new playmat will be available for BP09.<\/p>\n Image: Tsuburaya<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Launching alongside BP09 is Starter Deck 04<\/b>, Ultraman & Ultraman Cosmos<\/b>, featuring a pre-constructed 50-card deck made up of 20 card types and a playmat.
