Since Wukong is a single-player game, despite its massive popularity – it has the highest concurrent player count for a single-player game in Steam history – for the most part, its story, its moments, and its music, were experienced alone, even though, in reality, they were experienced by millions.<\/p>\n

The recent live concerts were the first examples of Wukong fans being able to come together en masse in North America and experience those shared memories together. The way you felt when exploring its world and learning its mythology. Beyond that, this is also the first example in North America of Black Myth: Wukong successfully transcending the video game medium. Never in history have video games had the opportunity to be more than games alone more than they do right now. Movies, TV shows, and indeed live performances, as Wukong has pulled off. Across multiple major cities, too, both of which represent such different cultures. LA, the entertainment capital of the world, and New York City, a global hub for culture and the arts.<\/p>\n

On the surface, the announcement that Black Myth: Wukong\u2019s music would be performed live in concert might have been a straightforward one. A big successful game with a fantastic soundtrack – performing that soundtrack live to its most adoring fans makes all the sense in the world. The success of those concerts represents more than that, though. It shows that the Black Myth series can and will continue to grow into a globally successful franchise. Not just because its games are beloved, but because those games can and will extend beyond the platforms on which they are played.<\/p>\n
