This follows the similarly snoozy start to 2025\u2019s Snow White remake, which earned <u>$87.3 million globally<\/u> on its opening weekend last March.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\" data-cy=\"article-video\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Despite these underwhelming numbers and <u>middling reviews<\/u>, Disney seems to be moving full-speed ahead toward even more live-action remakes. A new Tangled is in the works, with Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim to play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Andor\u2019s Diego Luna has also been cast in an as-yet unspecified role specific to the movie, while Scarlett Johansson, who was reportedly in talks to play Mother Gothel, is no longer involved in the project.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Other live-action flicks in Disney\u2019s schedule include Bambi, Hercules, and even a Gaston spinoff movie.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">The forthcoming Hercules film, with Joe and Anthony Russo producing, is set to put a \u201cmodern spin\u201d on the beloved Disney classic with the goal of telling a \u201cdifferent story,\u201d similar to what appears to be happening with Domingo and O\u2019Hara\u2019s Tiana-focused adventure.<\/p>\n<p><span data-cy=\"poll-view-trigger\"><\/p>\n<section class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\"><em>Virginia (she\/her) is IGN\u2019s News Editor.
