In Palworld<\/em>, you\u2019ll need coal <\/strong>in order to make carbon fiber and refined metal, both of which are needed for essential technology such as high tier spheres and guns.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After reaching level 53<\/strong>, you can unlock a placeable mining site for coal in exchange for five ancient technology points. The site costs quite a few materials to make (70 stone, 30 Paldium fragments, 10 ancient civilization parts, and 100 coal), so you will have to get your coal from one of the below places first. Once you make space for and place the dig site on your base, your mining Pals will be able to harvest a limitless supply of coal.<\/p>\n

Read on to find out where to find coal in Palworld <\/strong>and some prime locations to mine the resource.<\/p>\n

\n Where to find coal in Palworld
\n <\/h2>\n

The easiest spot to obtain coal is the Twilight Dunes desert near the center of the map:<\/p>\n

Search around the desert for large black rocks that are darker than your usual stone node and more monochromatic than your ore nodes.<\/p>\n

Coal is mineable with any pickaxe, but a higher tier pickaxe like a metal pickaxe (15 stone<\/strong>, 20 wood<\/strong>, 15 ingots)<\/strong> will make the mining process a lot quicker.<\/p>\n

There aren\u2019t many teleport waypoints in the desert, so it can be a little tough to lug coal back and forth to your base. To combat that, here are a few prime locations to place a spare Palbox, so you can easily fast travel to your base.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also find coal scattered around Mount Obsidian<\/strong>, but that is a much more dangerous area. <\/p>\n\n

\n Best locations for coal farming in Palworld
\n <\/h2>\n

While Mount Obsidian has coal as well, we\u2019re going to focus on the Twilight Dunes, Verdant Brook, and Sand Dunes regions. They\u2019re much safer and easier places to build a coal farming base.<\/p>\n

\n Coal locations in the Twilight Dunes

There are two locations in the desert that have five coal nodes close together, but don\u2019t forget to wear your heat resistant armor during the day and your cold resistant armor at night.<\/p>\n

The first location can be found at the coordinates (-157, -92)<\/strong>. Be careful as the Alpha Pal boss Anubis can roam nearby.<\/p>\n

The second location can be found at the coordinates (-97, -120)<\/strong>. This location is on top of a rock formation, so it\u2019s relatively safe from base raids.<\/p>\n

In this same region, there’s a third coal farming spot behind the Anubis statue<\/strong> at coordinates (-124, -84)<\/strong>. You will find six coal nodes<\/strong> at this location.<\/p>\n\n

\n Coal locations in the Verdant Brook
\n <\/h2>\n

For both of the locations in the Verdant Brook, we recommend you get a flying mount or else you\u2019ll need to do a ton of climbing.<\/p>\n

The first, and probably best, location for finding coal<\/strong> can be found at the coordinates (189, -40)<\/strong>. This location also has eight ore nodes<\/strong>, which will definitely help your sphere production.<\/p>\n

The second location can be found at the coordinates (290, -20)<\/strong>. Unfortunately, this location doesn\u2019t have eight ore nodes directly next to the coal, but there are seven ore nodes<\/strong> just a short trek to the east.<\/p>\n\n

\n Coal locations in the Sand Dunes
\n <\/h2>\n

You can start farming coal in the Sand Dunes by heading west of the Deep Sand Dunes<\/strong> statue. At the coordinates (436, 528)<\/strong>, you will find six coal nodes<\/strong> near the edge. <\/p>\n

Next, travel southeast from the Frozen Dune Cape statue<\/strong> and head to the top of the mountain. Near a cluster of trees, at coordinates (257, 543),<\/strong> there are nine nodes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The final farming spot in the Sand Dunes is located at coordinates (438, 431), southwest of the Deep Sand Dunes statue<\/strong>. At this location, you can find six coal nodes<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\n Palworld coal recipes
\n <\/h2>\n

Coal has a couple important uses for mid and late game. On its own, 2 coal <\/strong>and 2 ore <\/strong>create 1 refined ingot<\/strong> at an improved furnace (100 stone<\/strong>, 30 cement<\/strong>, 15 flame organs, 5 cryogenic coolant)<\/strong>. Refined ingots are a better source of metal for your gear, but you\u2019ll need to build a production assembly line (100 ingots<\/strong>, 5 wooden boards<\/strong>, 20 nails<\/strong>, 10 cement)<\/strong> to make most things with them.
