A woman pulled off the ultimate birthday surprise when her husband thought he was simply checking out a parked motorcycle \u2014 until she revealed it was his present.<\/p>\n
In a series of four videos shared by TikTok user @wantheone on that platform on Saturday (July 11), 37-year-old Shereen Shazlina decided to surprise her husband, Riduan, 44, with a shiny blue ride.<\/p>\n
The first video begins with the couple riding a multi-storey carpark lift to level 4A.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After exiting, Shazlina, a senior staff nurse, pretends to notice the bike, a Yamaha YZF-R3, and asks her husband if it’s the same model he had mentioned previously.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She approaches the stationary bike while asking Riduan, “This one what bike ah<\/em>?”<\/p>\n She then adds, “This is actually your birthday present, you know?” before quickly playing it off with: “Do you like it? Should I buy one like this for you?”<\/p>\n Trying to keep the surprise under wraps, she tells him she’s filming the interaction so she can remember what kind of motorcycle he likes.<\/p>\n Riduan appears unconvinced and while still processing what she’s saying, he responds with a bewildered, “Huh?”\u00a0<\/p>\n As he continues to inspect the bike, Shazlina takes out the keys and reveals that she has already bought it for him.<\/p>\n Riduan freezes in shock, seemingly unable to process the surprise. His wife then encourages him to turn on the ignition and test out the bike.\u00a0<\/p>\n The 44-year-old appears overjoyed as the motorcycle starts up and he tests the throttle. The clip ends with him walking over to his wife to embrace her in a hug.<\/p>\n In response to AsiaOne’s queries, Riduan said that the motorcycle is a used YZF-R3 and costs about $8,800.\u00a0<\/p>\n “(I had) very mixed emotions at first, as I thought she was joking. I was also overwhelmed by the gift,” said the relationship consultant, adding that he was “definitely” caught off guard by the surprise.\u00a0<\/p>\n Riduan said he had ridden a few motorbikes when he was in his 20s but later switched to driving cars and has been doing so ever since.\u00a0<\/p>\n He added that he had been thinking of getting a bike to commute to and from work so he could get home faster and see his family earlier.\u00a0<\/p>\n However, he did not follow through as he felt it was “a waste of money” and that the money would be better spent on the family.\u00a0<\/p>\n Checks by AsiaOne show that a new bike retails for about $22,800 with COE, while a second-hand model is listed on Carousell for around $6,800 with about two years of COE left.<\/p>\n One of the videos has garnered over 154,000 views and more than 4,600 likes as of Monday afternoon.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n @wantheone<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n\n
