SINGAPORE \u2013 Come July 19, public transport operator Go-Ahead Singapore will operate all 29 bus services in the Tampines area, taking over routes run by SBS Transit (SBST) for 10 years.<\/p>\n
Earlier, on July 5, during the first stage of the handover, 14 SBST bus services were handed over to Go-Ahead Singapore, including services 10, 18, 20, 39 and 299.<\/p>\n
On July 19, Go-Ahead Singapore will take over the remaining 15 services, including services 4, 37, 47, 127 and 291.<\/p>\n
The 29 services include two newly introduced services. Bus service 454 started operations in November 2025, and service 460 started in April.<\/p>\n
Go-Ahead Singapore won the contract to run the package in September 2025. The handover is taking place in stages to ensure smooth, disruption-free journeys for passengers, the operator said.<\/p>\n
The Land Transport Authority (LTA), in response to queries, said all 29 services will operate from the bus depot at the new East Coast Integrated Depot in Changi.<\/p>\n
It added that the phased handover is similar to previous bus contract transitions.<\/p>\n
The East Coast Integrated Depot \u2013 which will be the biggest train and bus depot in Singapore when it is fully up and running \u2013 is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. <\/span><\/a>The East-West Line started operating from the new depot in March, with the Downtown Line and Thomson-East Coast Line to follow later in 2026.<\/p>\n Go-Ahead Singapore won the contract to run the package in September 2025.<\/p>\n ST PHOTO: LIM YAOHUI<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Go-Ahead Singapore, responding to queries, said most SBST employees affected by the handover have opted to join Go-Ahead.<\/p>\n It did not provide details on the number of employees who made the switch, but said Go-Ahead is committed to supporting them through the transition with employment terms that are \u201cno less favourable\u201d than those they received from SBST.<\/p>\n LTA said the 29 Go-Ahead services will operate with a fleet of about 400 buses, which include around 260 electric buses.
