One of Warframe<\/em>\u2019s oldest playable Warframes is finally getting a much-needed new kit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since Warframe<\/em>\u2019s debut in 2013, it has transformed from a methodical and monochrome shooter into a riotous fast-paced space opera. The roster of playable Warframes has, in turn, grown with increasingly complex abilities.<\/p>\n Banshee, who debuted in the game\u2019s first year, is now getting a mechanical makeover. A sound-based Warframe, her current kit has a focus on crowd control and allows her to push, stagger, and stun enemies with sonic powers. She can also apply a debuff that appears as a highlighted \u201cweak spot.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt used to be the best kit in the game due to how important crowd control was,\u201d said Warframe<\/em> creative director Rebecca Ford. But in the 13 years since Warframe<\/em> launched, a parade of new Warframes have joined the fray.<\/p>\n \u201cThink of all the warframes that have come out since 2013 that touched that crowd control itch and, you know, are just as complicated as they get now in 2026,\u201d said community director Megan Everett. Aside from the new Warframes, the team at Digital Extremes has also added mods that players can use to increase weak-point damage and emphasized area-of-effect abilities with Blast damage.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was time to put all of that into practice with the original crowd control and damage scaling frame that rewarded accuracy. So that’s very much the thesis of her touch up,\u201d said Ford.<\/p>\n As one of the game\u2019s oldest Warframes, Banshee has dedicated fans among the player base who have been clamoring for a rework. Digital Extremes frequently updates older frames to bring their abilities more in line with the ever-changing game.<\/p>\n \u201cFor a good amount of time now, the actual community has been like, \u2018Please, Banshee, please,\u2019\u201d said Everett. \u201cWe were just at Anime Expo, and someone literally stood up and said, “Please rework Banshee.” And we’re like, “Oh!\u201d<\/p>\n Digital Extremes regularly takes the community\u2019s pulse through Devstreams and events like TennoCon.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have kind of like a running roster of what the community are actually, like, hungry for,\u201d said Everett. \u201cBanshee has been one of the top of the list for a good amount of time now\u2026 she is due.\u201d<\/p>\n Banshee\u2019s rework will be available as part of Warframe<\/em>\u2019s fall update, Iceblade of Narin, alongside Deluxe skins for Banshee and Qorvex, a new ice-themed Warframe, and Citrine Prime.<\/p>\n![\"Several](\"https:\/\/static0.polygonimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/tc26_art-anim_banshee-deluxe-concept.png?q=49&fit=crop&w=825&dpr=2\")
