Assassin\u2019s Creed will turn 20 years old in 2027. After 15 main series entries and even more handheld and mobile spinoffs, the series is showing no signs of slowing down. Its latest entry was Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced<\/em>, a remake of 2013\u2019s Assassin\u2019s Creed 4: Black Flag<\/em>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For the most part, Black Flag Resynced<\/em> has received a very strong reception, with a 93% Critics Recommend score on OpenCritic. Polygon was a little more down on it than others, writing, \u201cThis old ship might not be dead in the water, but it isn’t going anywhere, either,\u201d in our review.<\/p>\n If pirate action isn\u2019t for you, or you\u2019re longing for some old-school Assassin\u2019s Creed, don\u2019t fret. Recent entries like Mirage<\/em> and Shadows<\/em> have been very strong, and even more Assassin\u2019s Creed games are on the way. We\u2019ve collected the latest news on all those upcoming Assassin\u2019s Creed games, and even some other AC projects in the works.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Release window:<\/strong> TBA<\/p>\n Platforms:<\/strong> TBA<\/p>\n Ubisoft officially announced Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe<\/em> in 2022, alongside other Assassin\u2019s Creed games, but we still don\u2019t know a ton about it. According to a March 2026 update from franchise head of content Jean Guesdon, players should “expect a unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin\u2019s Creed experience, set during a pivotal moment in history.”<\/p>\n Based on the announcement trailer and pre-reveal reports, Hexe<\/em> will likely take players to 16th-century Europe and focus on witch hunts. It was thought that magical abilities would play a role in Hexe<\/em>, though recent leaks have claimed those have been removed. Take leaks with a grain of salt, but Hexe<\/em> has had several leadership and rumored team-wide reshuffles in 2026, so it\u2019s possible (and even likely) that the game it is today is plenty different than the one Ubisoft had planned at the time of Hexe<\/em>\u2019s 2022 reveal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Release window:<\/strong> TBA<\/p>\n Platforms:<\/strong> Android, iOS<\/p>\n Ubisoft has released Assassin\u2019s Creed games on mobile before, but none quite like Assassin\u2019s Creed Jade<\/em>. At first blush, it looks like a console game and not one designed for touch controls on a phone. Like Hexe<\/em>, it was first revealed in September 2022. At Gamescom 2023, Ubisoft shared a look at its gameplay, which features all the parkour and neck-stabbing action you\u2019d expect from an open-world Assassin\u2019s Creed game. Though it\u2019s had closed betas before, there\u2019s still no indication as to when Assassin\u2019s Creed Jade<\/em> will be released in full.<\/p>\n It will take players to Qin Dynasty China in 215 BC. You\u2019ll parkour across the Great Wall and explore Ancient Chinese cities as a fully customizable assassin, a first for the series.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Release window:<\/strong> TBA<\/p>\n Platforms:<\/strong> TBA<\/p>\n Unlike Hexe<\/em> and Jade<\/em>, we\u2019ve yet to actually see anything of Assassin\u2019s Creed Invictus<\/em>. We know it will be \u201ca PvP multiplayer Assassin’s Creed experience led by a dedicated team of For Honor<\/em> veterans at Ubisoft Montreal,\u201d according to Guesdon in that March 2026 Assassin\u2019s Creed franchise update. As for what that multiplayer experience will look like, your guess is as good as anyone\u2019s; Invictus<\/em>\u2019 setting, characters, and narrative are all unknown.<\/p>\n Leaks claimed Invictus<\/em> would be \u2014 brace yourselves \u2014 a \u201cFall Guys<\/em> version of Assassin\u2019s Creed\u201d with \u201cFortnite<\/em>-style graphics.\u201d However, Guesdon said Invictus<\/em> \u201cisn\u2019t quite what the rumors have suggested.\u201d<\/p>\n Assassin\u2019s Creed has dabbled in multiplayer before. In 2010, Assassin\u2019s Creed: Brotherhood<\/em> had a few PvP modes, which were then featured in games like Black Flag<\/em>, while Assassin\u2019s Creed Unity<\/em> included co-op multiplayer missions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In a 2024 interview for Ubisoft\u2019s own website, CEO Yves Guillemot said, \u201cplayers can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them.\u201d After being what felt like an open secret for the longest time, the remake Assassin\u2019s Creed Black Flag Resynced<\/em> was officially announced and released this year, and did exactly that \u2014 modernize a classic.<\/p>\n Guillemont\u2019s use of the plural \u201cremakes\u201d makes us wonder if more are on the way. \u201cThere are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich,\u201d he continued. Ubisoft has been no stranger to remastering and re-releasing games of yesteryear, so it wouldn\u2019t be surprising if Black Flag Resynced<\/em> is the first of several remakes on the horizon. None have been formally announced or confirmed to be in development at this time, however.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Release window:<\/strong> December 2026<\/p>\n The next Assassin\u2019s Creed spinoff is a surprising one: The stage production Heredis<\/em> is set to premiere in Montreal in December before moving to Paris in 2027. It\u2019s an “original live show” that “blends acrobatics, parkour, theatre, and history into a powerful new stage experience,” according to Ubisoft.<\/p>\n Audiences won\u2019t need to read up on their series lore to enjoy it, and the production\u2019s website doesn\u2019t mention how assassins or templar fit into its story (if at all). Heredis<\/em> will follow Na\u00ebl on a history-hopping adventure to find his missing father.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Release window:<\/strong> TBA<\/p>\n Assassin\u2019s Creed already went live action once with a derided film that starred Michael Fassbender. (Some folks enjoyed it.) But that didn\u2019t stop Ubisoft from partnering with Netflix in 2020 to bring Assassin\u2019s Creed stories to life in a different way. A live action series got the greenlight in July 2025 with one of the Halo TV show writers on board.<\/p>\n Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Noomi Rapace, and more have since been cast, and filming started in spring 2026. Fans initially wondered if the show would be an adaptation of the Ezio games, but instead it will be an original story set in Ancient Rome.
