We remain in the era of remakes, and true to the times, Ubisoft <\/b>has released Assassin\u2019s Creed Black Flag: Resynced<\/b>, a ground-up remake of 2013\u2019s Assassin\u2019s Creed IV: Black Flag built in the studio\u2019s modern Anvil engine.<\/p>\n
For Singapore, it\u2019s a notable release because the studio leading development is none other than Ubisoft Singapore<\/b>. The local branch of the French developer has been intimately tied with the AC franchise since 2009, ultimately contributing on 13 games in the series and counting (Fun fact: Ubisoft Singapore worked on the original Black Flag\u2019s ocean simulation).<\/p>\n
In particular, Resynced presents a chance at redemption for the local Ubisoft division, after its previous pirate-themed game, 2024\u2019s Skull and Bones, transformed into a misadventure following a notoriously rocky development process and critical reviews upon release.<\/p>\n
Resynced promises to be a more fruitful venture, with Ubisoft touting improved naval gameplay. These include new navigation tools, the removal of loading screens between sailing and arriving in major cities, and dynamic weather on the high seas, among others.<\/p>\n
Content has also been revised as well, with the addition of a new endgame chapter, side missions, and four optional Animus Rifts to explore. Fundamental aspects of Black Flag have also been worked on, with an updated combat loop, new stealth mechanics (including the ability to crouch anywhere), alongside graphical improvements.<\/p>\n
